Diff Breather Kit Specification

The differential/axle breather is very important on your four wheel drive vehicle because it vents the air pressure in drivetrain assemblies, including the differentials, transmission and transfer case. Under normal operations, these assemblies heat up and the air expands inside which increases the pressure, and when the drivetrain assembly cools down, the air inside contracts and creates a vacuum.

If your assemblies are too hot and the breather goes underwater, it is going to suck litres of water through the breather. In some cases, breathers have a one-way valve that closes when the pressure flips, and in this case that water can be sucked in through axle or pinion seals. This will contaminate the oil and severely damage drivetrain components

This kit is designed to allow your diffs, transfer case and gearbox to breathe by relocating the breather to a higher point on vehicle and stopping the affect of water being sucked into diff housings and gearboxes.

This kit is a 4 port system which includes fittings for MOST front and rear diffs transfer case and gearbox to suit Navara, Hilux, Patrol, Landcruiser, Prado and many others.

The AOB Snorkel Sock Pre Filters are designed to be installed on the hood of the snorkel to remove most of the contamination and dirt from the incoming air. They are effective at removing the larger dirt particles and water droplets. As a result, they will greatly reduce the dirt reaching the air cleaner, resulting in extended filter life.

The AOB Snorkel Pre Filters are perfect for farm use and the big outback trips over long dusty roads and sandy beaches.

They can be easily installed by simply slipping the "sock" filter over the snorkel head. The filters are fully reusable and just need a good clean to reuse again or replace with new filters.
